STONER ROCK MEXICO website updated

After a long hiatus we are back with our site
updated and revamped. A lot of new bands
have been added to our list and we’re so
glad to see we grow bigger every day, check
out
the new blood coming, sure there is
something for everybody. Gradually we will
be enlisting the Mexican forefathers of the
genre. On every band’s bio you’ll also find
links to their other virtual communities as
well as to their videos. Soon we’ll have a
song player so you can hear tracks of each
band.

The old section of concert reviews is now
entitled
Live, there you can read concert
reviews happening in Mexico. Right now you
can read the review of Triple M shows:
Metallica, Mastodon & Maligno at
Guadalajara and Monterrey.

On the
Shows section we have updated the
shows organized by Stoner Rock Mexico
such as
Stoner Explosion festivals and
Black Sabbath tributes, with links to
pictures, videos and press releases.

We have a new section:
Records, where you
will find reviews of the most sought-after,
must-hear records of local and worldwide
Stoner Rock. We’ll be having guest reviewers
writing their verdicts over what they are
hearing. If you are a band and want your
album to be reviewed drop us an email:
reviews[at]stonerrock.com.mx.

Also we have two new “social networks”
(whatever that means):
Twitter
(@stonerrockmx) and Facebook, along with
our
MySpace page and our YouTube
channel we put Mexican Stoner Rock on the
face of the virtual world. If you are a regular
user of any of them add or follow Stoner Rock
Mexico.

Coming soon we’ll be having a
Downloads
section hosting albums and songs from the
bands who might feel generous. In the
meantime you can STILL download our two
comps
Sounds From Mictlan and El Diablo’s
record
Paradise Mescaline by subscribing to
our Newsletter.

We hope the wait has worth it and still have
your support.
Thanks to all of you stonerheads!

BLOODY PICNIC splits

One of the most promising bands fo Mexican
Stoner Rock has split up. There are not much
details on it but the breakup seems definitive.
Their guitar placer Edgar Burgos is now
under the ranks of psychedelic stoners
Jesus On Dope

DIRTY WOMAN sold out

The foursome announces the first batch of
their debut album
Demon Lover has sold
out. Nowadays you can only purchase it on
digital format on the usual online stores such
as Amazon (where you can luckily find some
CD copies still) and iTunes. It’s also
available in FLAC format plus an extra track,
as a free download uploaded by the band on
this location. Also the band made an
extensive interview on Doomantia’s blog,
read it here

MALIGNO finishes recording sessions

Monterrey’s own Maligno has finished the
recording sessions for their third album,
entitled tentatively
TFD. During the record
process the band had the endorsement of
Gibson’s Mexican branch, so we expect a
wide spectrum of sounds and high class
riffing. The album is said to be a concept
album with 9 tracks produced and recorded
by the band at La Nave Studios, as well as
featuring some surprise guests unrevealed
at the moment. The band is at the stage of
mixing and mastering the album with a well-
known English producer. In the meantime
Maligno will play at Mexico City’s
Grito de
Guerra Fest
where they will play new tracks,
some of which they already played on their
slot as opening act for
Metallica and
Mastodon during the Mexican leg of their
tour. More info on this can be found at the
Shows and Live section. Also you can read a
great interview made with
Chris Barnes of
Hellride
store fame on this link.

DRUGSTER MONSTER bassless

The band is still alive, looking for a suitable
replacement following the exit of Raul
Sisniega (who is now fronting
Jesus On
Dope). Guitarist Fernando Puighol has been
active with metalheads
66 Crash.

STONEFRONT new song

Guadalajara’s foursome has posted a new
song from their long awaited EP
Delivering.
The track “Tomorrow” can be heard on their
MySpace page. Delivering was recorded at
Boogie Studios by Galo Ochoa and co-
produced by the band, mastering sessions
were held by Aldo Muñoz, all in Guadalajara,
Jalisco’s soil. This is the tracklist for
Delivering:

1. "Tomorrow"
2. "Fake"
3. "Get out!"
4. "Consumed"

The recording is expected to be out soon.
The band is also having Carlos from La
Ruina on drums, replacing Chinfu who is no
longer part of Stonefront.

LOS STONERS new EP and interview

Puebla’s favourite sons Los Stoners have
recorded a new EP, following the launch of
their self-titled debut album. The EP entitled
Live Sessions has three new songs, among
which one is their first sung in Spanish
entitled “Un Muerto Mas”. The song also has
their own video as well as “Stoner Nation
State” which is shaping to be the first single
for a forthcoming second album. The band is
still working on the promotion of their debut
album and recently had an extensive
interview with Mexico’s
Proactive Magazine,
